My name is George Ihimaera and I am the Principal here at Kereru Park Campus. We have amazing students and very support whanau who enjoy our caring and respectful environment.

My wife Tania won a position in our schools Rumaki Reo Unit Te Mahuri this year. Both our tamariki attend our kura and are in our Rumaki Unit. We hail from the Taitokerau and enjoy visiting our Marae and whanau regularly throughout the year.

I am currently on the National Executive of the Maori Principals Association, Te Akatea as well as the regional association here in Tamaki Makaurau, Akatamaki where I am the current President. I really enjoy working with and for my fellow colleagues at a national level.

I am currently on study leave doing a Diploma in Proficiency in Te Reo Maori at Te Wananga Takiura. My course starts on the 5th February and I will be returning to Kura on17th November.

I am very excited about this year and I am also looking forward to sharing my story on this blog.
